Why do passports from all countries look kind of alike.

So, we are always complaining that our flag looks the same as Australia's when actually Australia's looks the same as ours. No-one ever complains about passports being the same. They're all 15.5 x 10.5cms and have 32 pages. The first four pages are for your details, with the other 28 being for stamps. (The passport I had two passports ago was three-quarters full. My last passport had two stamps. Bit of a lifestyle change there.)
The NZ Herald article below tells the story of the League of Nations in Paris, and the decisions they made in October 1920 which still stand today.
That being said, New Zealand passports have always been pretty cool. They have cool pictures on the pages documenting our history. Better still, they've gone back to 10 years now so the government can stop taking so much money off me.
