写真で英語の文法と単語うを習う #3 - Nevis River

Welcome to the Make Sense blog. What we're going to do here is learn English vocab through photos, taken by myself in the beginning, or with submissions from you beautiful people out there.

I will explain the photo, then break down my explanation in English and Japanese. If you have any questions, please ask. I have also included the phonetics to help pronunciation. I also explain it via (a very ベギンナー) Youtube clip.

This beautiful river is the Nevis River near Queenstown, New Zealand. It is only a short distance from Queenstown as the crow flies, but much further by car. If you come to New Zealand, you should visit Queenstown.
We have set up a fireplace, using stones to act as a guard against the wind. You should always be cautious when cooking with fire. Sparks can get caught on the wind, and set dry grass or scrub on fire. It can quickly get out of hand.
When you finish with the fire, you should always make sure it is extinguished completely.

単語

文法
If you come to New Zealand, you should visit Queenstown.
You should always be cautious when cooking with fire.
When you finish with the fire, you should always make sure it is extinguished completely.

Should is a modal verb (法助動詞) which is used to show that something is a good idea, and that it is best you do it. It is best you visit Queenstown (because it's beautiful). It is best to be cautious when cooking with fire (so you don't cause a large inferno), and it is best to make sure you fire is extingished completely (for the same reason as being cautious when cooking.
